The 10th Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) player draft among the seven franchises has concluded successfully. The draft featured a total of 646 cricketers, consisting of 443 foreigners and 203 local players.
One of the highlights of the draft was the keen interest in local Category A player KL Rahul, who was sought after by all the franchises. However, Fortune Barishal was fortunate to secure his services.
Despite having the first pick in the draft, former champions Rangpur Riders opted to select Rony Talukdar.
Following the acquisition of KL Rahul, Barishal also signed Soumya Sarkar, Mohammad Saifuddin, Taijul Islam, Prantik Nawrose Nabil, Dinesh Chandimal, and Kamrul Islam Rabbi.
Khulna Tigers bolstered their squad with Afif Hossain, Rubel Hossain, and the Sri Lankan duo Dasun Shanaka and Kasun Rajitha.
All seven franchises have signed local and foreign players under the direct local signing policy.
Base prices for local players in different categories are as follows:
Category A: 80 Lakhs BDT
Category B: 50 Lakhs BDT
Category C: 30 Lakhs BDT
Other categories follow a similar pattern.
