Bangladesh were bowled out for 53 in their second innings with a target of 274 against South Africa. As a result, the visitors had to accept a humiliating 220-run defeat in the first Test of the series.
Bangladesh batted in the fifth day's match at Kingsmead in Durban on Monday. Where on the fourth day the team lost 3 wickets for 11 runs. However, on the last day, the batsmen kept on taking wickets. In the end, Bangladesh were bowled out for 53 runs after batting 19 overs.
Mushfiqur Rahim returned with zero, Liton Das with two and Yasir Ali Rabbi with five runs. Spinner Keshav Maharaj took these three wickets in the beginning. In the meantime he took 5 wickets.
Then Shimon Harmer hit the Bangladesh camp. He also dismissed Nazmul Hossain Shant who scored 26 runs after returning Mehdi Hasan Miraj for zero.
Maharaj became terrible in this innings. He also took the last two wickets of Bangladesh. Khaled Ahmed was sent to the pavilion for zero and Taskin Ahmed for 14 runs.
Maharaj took 7 wickets for only 32 runs in 10 overs. Harmer got 3 wickets.
Earlier, South Africa scored 367 in the first innings and Bangladesh scored 298 runs in reply. The Proteas were all out for 204 in the second innings.
